How To Use Your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for Air Purifiers

What is a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)?

A flexible spending account (FSA) is an account you can set up, if eligible, through your employer specifically to pay for health care costs. An FSA allows you to save pre-taxed dollars for certain out-of-pocket medical-related expenses including an Oransi air purifier, which in turn saves you money.

An FSA is a great way to pay for medical expenses that aren’t covered by your insurance plan, which usually includes an air purifier purchase. Your FSA account money is deducted from your paycheck before taxes giving you a stockpile of funds to cover medical co-pays, deductibles, and approved medical devices and equipment from crutches and blood sugar test kits to air purifiers.

Talk with your HR department about your company’s FSA setup, how to set up an account for yourself, and the process to make claims for reimbursement like on the FSAFEDS site

How to Use FSA Money For An Oransi Air Purifier

When purchased for medical reasons, an Oransi air purifier can be covered by your flexible spending account. Here’s the process you’ll want to follow to ensure you can use FSA funds:

  1. Connect with HR and understand what you need for reimbursement. Our next steps in this process layout what’s typically required to be approved for an FSA reimbursement. But, first talk to your company’s HR department or FSA provider and fully understanding their specific needs for reimbursement.

  2. Talk to your doctor. A typical way to ensure your medical purchase is FSA-eligible is to have a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from your medical professional authorizing the purchase as a medical expense. If you suffer from a medical condition like asthma or allergies an air purifier can be a great way to mitigate your symptoms. Here is a helpful reference sheet to share the health benefits of Oransi air purifiers with your doctor.

  3. Purchase an Oransi air purifier with your preferred debit or credit card. Unfortunately, we can’t accept FSA or HSA cards directly and medical expense purchases will be reimbursed after the initial purchase.

  4. Keep track of all documentation and submit the necessary forms. This includes the LMN from your doctor and your receipts from Oransi as proof of purchase. This documentation is crucial to be approved for an FSA reimbursement.

In Summary

Unfortunately, Oransi cannot currently accept payments directly from an FSA card. You’ll have to consult your FSA provider and connect with your HR department to learn about the specifics of your reimbursement program.

Once you understand what you need in place to be eligible for reimbursement you can purchase an Oransi air purifier with a debit or credit card. Then you can start the reimbursement process with your FSA or insurance provider.

Reimbursement processes are specific to your insurance or FSA provider so understanding what steps to follow will result in a successful reimbursement even if you have to file multiple claims with your provider. More than anything, we recommend that you reach out to your provider to make sure you have a clear understanding of what you need to do to be reimbursed for your medical expense purchase of an Oransi air purifier.

This should be an easy process even though it might seem complicated at the beginning. It will be worth it in the end when you can use pre-tax dollars to protect your health and your loved ones.
