Is the AirMend remote simple to use?
Yes. The remote turns the purifier on and off. It also has + and - buttons that control the fan speed (and the associated noise level). The remote can be magnetically placed on top of the device for safekeeping. The remote takes one CR2025 battery.
Is the AirMend easy to turn off and on?
The AirMend air purifier is very easy to turn off and on. There is a power button on the remote that turns the device off and on with one click.
Are AirMend filters easy and affordable to replace? Do they last a long time?
Yes, AirMend filters are easy to replace, affordable, and last a long time. Replacing your filters only takes seconds and the process is simply popping off the front grill and swapping out a dirty filter for a new one.
Do NOT use TrueCarbon filters in the AirMend purifier. If your purifier comes with HEPA (white) filters you have to continue using the HEPA (white) filter replacements.
No tools are required to open the air purifier and the process takes just seconds!
How will I know it’s time to change the filters?
HEPA:
A red filter light will turn on to indicate it’s time to check your filters. This filter light is located at the bottom of the front of the device by the fan speed lights. The pre-filter should last the lifetime of the product if properly cared for and cleaned using a vacuum or damp cloth.
The HEPA media filter should last 12 months and should be replaced when it’s gray and you can no longer see white media. You can reset the filter light on your remote by holding down the “filter reset” button.

Replacement filters can be purchased directly from Oransi. We’ve engineered the AirMend to maintain quality control of the filters and ensure the devices maintain the best air cleaning performance possible.
How do I clean my filters?
HEPA:
The AirMend comes with two filters: a pre-filter and a HEPA based filter. The pre-filter can be gently washed, vacuumed, or wiped with a damp cloth. In fact, both filters can be vacuumed and cleaned with a soft, dry cloth which can help the life of the HEPA based filter as well. We recommend this maintenance if your home is especially dusty or if you have pets that shed. You can also clean the outside of the purifier with a soft cloth if needed.
How do I wash my pre-filter?
The AirMend pre-filter is a wire mesh filter that should last the lifetime of the product if cared for and cleaned properly. You can vacuum or wipe with a damp cloth to remove excess dust. We would not recommend letting the pre-filter soak in soap nor sit in water. It is also not dishwasher safe. Take care with the fine mesh of the filter and it will last the life of the air purifier.
How do I replace the filters?
Replacing the filters in the AirMend is easy.
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Take off the front grill of the purifier.
- Take out the pre-filter and HEPA filter.
- Put the new filter into the device.
- Put the pre-filter back into the device.
- Put the front grill of the purifier back on.
- Plug in the purifier and turn the device back on with the remote.
What if my remote is not adjusting the fan speed?
Our remotes have a plastic tab that saves battery life during shipping. This needs to be removed before the remote will work. If the plastic tab has been removed, then most likely the issue is that the battery needs to be replaced. The remote takes one CR2025 battery. If your remote is still not working please reach out to our US based customer service team.
Is the AirMend easy to carry?
Yes, the AirMend air purifier is very easy to carry! It’s lightweight with a small footprint that can easily fit on your tabletop. The dimensions are 13" x 13" x 8" (W x H x D) and the weight is 7-10 lbs (less than the average housecat).
Is the AirMend loud?
No, the AirMend is not a loud air purifier. There are 10 fan speeds so you can easily control the airflow and noise level with the remote. The decibel range is 30-60 dBA. On its lowest setting, the AirMend sounds like someone whispering. The AirMend’s highest setting sounds like your dishwasher running.
Is the AirMend energy efficient?
Yes, the AirMend air purifier is energy efficient. The AirMend HEPA purifiers are ENERGY STAR® certified and use significantly less energy than other purifiers on the market. This means you can run it 24/7 without worrying about your electric bill.
What does “Assembled in The USA” mean?
The “Assembled in The USA” statement is a government regulated standard that lets customers know how a product is made. According to the FTC, “A product that includes foreign components may be called "Assembled in The USA" without qualification when its principal assembly takes place in the U.S. and the assembly is substantial. For the "assembly" claim to be valid, the product’s last "substantial transformation" also should have occurred in the U.S.” We’re proud to be able to share that the AirMend air purifier is assembled and designed in the USA in our Virginia factory.

Where is my pre-filter located?
As of July 2020 the EJ120s were manufactured with a screen pre-filter attached to the door.
How long does the high efficiency air filter and activated carbon filter last?
The filter lasts 12 month with continuous use.
When the filter light is illuminated, does it mean it’s time to replace it?
This light is an indicator to check the filter.
How do I clean my activated carbon filter?
Clean the activated carbon filter with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner or with a damp cloth.
How do I know when to replace the high efficiency air filter and activated carbon filter?
When the filter is completely discolored or black from wall to wall it is time to replace. We recommend replacing the activated carbon filter at the same time as the high efficiency air filter.
How do I replace the filters?
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Grab the handle near the top of the cover and pull the cover toward you. The cover will hinge at the bottom.
- Remove the filters and replace them with new ones.
- The high efficiency air filter is inserted first with the side with the Oransi rubber seal facing inward followed by the carbon filter.

Close the front cover and lock back into place. If the cover is not fully closed, the unit will not power on.
How do I know which activated carbon filter I need?
The EJ Pleated activated carbon filter that comes with the unit at purchase, has 1 pound of carbon in it and is effective for all gasses. The EJ activated carbon filter, which is available as an upgrade, has 3.5 pounds of carbon in it and is more commonly used for strong odor and smoke removal.
How do I turn off my filter indicator light?
Press and hold the filter button until the blinking light turns off.
What if my unit will not turn on?
The air purifier has a power switch on the back of the air purifier that must be pressed ON. If the air purifier does not run, turn the power switch to OFF and then ON. The motor will not run on fan speed 0. Increase fan speed to 3 or 4 if it does not seem to be running since it can be very quiet on the low speeds.
How can I clean the outside of my purifier?
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth to wipe the external surfaces. Never use any chemical or harsh cleaners.
How long does the pre-filter last?
The pre-filter lasts 2-3 months.
Can the pre-filter be cleaned?
Yes, the pre-filter can be cleaned with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner.
How do I replace the pre-filter?
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Press the lock & release button to remove the rear cover from the purifier.
- Remove the pre-filter from the rear cover.
- Reattach the new pre-filter to the rear cover and install it back onto the purifier and securely latch in place.
How long does the real high efficiency air filter last?
The high efficiency air filter can be used continuously for 12 months. It is recommended to clean the filter every 2-3 months with a dry soft cloth or vacuum brush attachment.
When the filter light is illuminated, does it mean it’s time to replace it?
No, that light indicates the filter needs to be cleaned. We suggest replacing your filter when you can no longer see white filter media.
How do I clean my filter?
Clean the filter with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner or a dry soft cloth.
How do I know when to replace the filter?
It’s time to replace the filter when the filter turns from white to dark gray on all sides.
How do I replace the filter?
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Press the lock & release button to remove the rear cover from the purifier.
- Remove the filter and replace it with the new one. The filter side with two panels faces towards you.
- Install the rear cover back onto the purifier and securely latch in place.
How to reset the filter light?
Use a pin or paperclip to press the reset button, found on the top of the unit, until the icon stops flickering.
What does the UV lamp function do?
The UV-C germicidal lamp assists the high efficiency air filter in cleaning your air. UV light is typically used for mold issues and can kill harmful airborne bacteria if given adequate exposure time.
How do I know if the UV lamp needs to be replaced?
The UV icon on the LCD screen will illuminate and flicker.
How to replace the UV lamp?
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Press the lock & release button to remove the rear cover from the purifier.

- Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws to detach the UV lamp cover.
- Replace with the new UV lamp, replace the filter, and re-attach the UV lamp cover.

How to reset the UV light?
Reset the UV lamp replacement light by pressing the UV Button for a few seconds until the UV icon stops flickering.
Can the purifier operate without the UV bulb?
No, the Finn needs the UV lamp to operate.
How can I tell if my UV bulb is on?
On the front of the purifier, in the middle section of the air output grates, there is a UV view window in the middle section. If the view window is illuminated, the UV bulb is on.
What does the Ionizer function do?
The Finn’s ozone-safe negative ionizers create a negative charge to allow the high efficiency air filter to capture more particles. The negative ions attract the positive ions in your air like a magnet and drop the particles to the ground.

Why will my purifier not turn on?
Check that the UV lamp, UV lamp cover, the filter, and the purifier’s rear cover are properly in place.

How do I know when to replace the high efficiency air filter and activated carbon filter?
There is a color code on the right hand side of high efficiency air filter filter that shows how dark the filter media gets before it needs to be replaced.
How do I replace the filter?
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Use the front cover removal tool and insert it into the uppermost side air intake slot. Gently push outwards against the back surface of the front cover until the top corner of the front panel pops open.
- Repeat this process for the other side and then lift the entire front panel up and away from the main body, exposing the filter compartment.
- Turn the 4 locks per the direction of the arrows to release the pre-filter. On the filter, hold the small ribbons at the top and pull the filter out. On the carbon filter, hold the small ribbons at the top and pull the filter out.
- Re-insert the new filters by inserting the bottom portion first then pushing the top into place. For the front cover, interlock the bottom first and push the whole cover inwards at the top two corners to secure it.
What if I don’t have the front cover removal tool?
You can use any non-conductive item such as the handle of a plastic utensil or wooden chopstick.
How to reset the filter light?
Press and hold the Fan Speed and Anion buttons simultaneously until you see “CL” for Clear on your control panel.
What is the function of the Air Quality Sensor (AQS)?
The AQS measures and displays air quality in 5 levels (Excellent, Very Good, Good, Standard, Poor). The line corresponds to the particle count as measured by the AQS.
Each of the air quality sensor levels will display differently on your purifier.
Excellent: no bars
Very Good: 1 bar
Good: 2 bars
Standard: 3 bars
Poor: 4 bars
What if my AQS light is blinking?
It usually blinks when first turned on until the machine warms back up, which can take up to 10 minutes, and then remains illuminated. If any buttons are pressed on the purifier while it’s warming up, the process will start over.
What if my AQS light is red and won’t change back to green?
Clean the lens of any accumulated dust by lightly vacuuming the sensor located to the right of the power button.
What is the function of Auto Mode?
In Auto Mode, the purifier will run at the lowest fan speed. If the AQS detects a change in the density of particles in the air, the unit will increase the fan speed. Once the AQS detects it has cleaned the dense particles out of the air, the purifier will return to the lowest fan speed.
What if my fan speed is not adjusting in Auto Mode?
First, verify that the sensor to the right of the power button is functioning properly by lighting a candle and blowing it out toward the sensor. The purifier should immediately increase fan speed and then come back down again. If you do not have a candle, you can use a match or something with aerosol. If the sensor does not react, then reach out to Oransi customer service.
What is the function of the Anion Generator?
The Anion Generator is a low-level and ozone-safe negative ionizer that freshens and balances the air by neutralizing a surplus of positive charges from TVs and computer monitors.
How do I turn on the Anion Generator?
Press the Anion button to turn this feature on and press it again to turn the feature off. When the refresh icon is illuminated, the anion feature is on.
What is the function of the Timer?
This allows you to set a timer for how long the purifier will run and then shut off automatically. Press the Timer button to set the number of hours you would like the purifier to run. Each time the button is pressed, it will increase by 1 hour up to 12 hours.
What if my purifier does not turn on?
The purifier will not operate if the filters and front cover are not placed properly.
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Remove the front cover and all of the filters.
- On the bottom of the unit, in the back right hand side of the frame is a safety switch — click this in and out 4 or 5 times.
- Re-install the filters and ensure each is seated in its place.
- Reinstall the front cover with the bottom edge first and push the whole cover inwards at the top two corners to secure it.

How long does the filter last?
The Mod series all have one combination filter that includes a mesh pre-filter, HEPA filter based media that is pleated, and activated carbon. The filter life is 12 months.
When the filter light is illuminated, does it mean it’s time to replace it?
The red filter light will illuminate after 4,500 hours of run time indicating it is time to check the filter. We suggest replacing your filter when you can no longer see white filter media.
How do I clean my filter?
Clean the filter with the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner or wipe with a damp cloth. Cleaning your filter every few months can prolong filter life and help you get the best value for your purchase.
How do I replace the filter?
- Turn off and unplug the purifier.
- Flip the purifier upside down and place it on a non-scratch surface with the base facing up.
- Move the slide switch to the right to unlock. Grab the base and turn it counterclockwise to loosen. Lift off the base of the purifier. Pull the handle of the air filter to lift it out.
- Insert new filter with handle facing out. Twist the handle slightly to ensure it is fully seated in the housing.
- Place the purifier base back on the housing lining up the arrows of the base. Turn the base clockwise to tighten. Move the slide switch to the left to lock. Flip the purifier over onto the base and plug back in and turn on.
How do I reset the Filter light?
Press and hold the filter on the interface until the light goes from red to blue.
What if my interface is not adjusting the fan speed?
It takes a moment for the interface to recognize touch, so place your finger on the fan speed scale until you see the interface light up. Then you can adjust the fan speed to your liking.
Why is the fan speed decreasing for a moment without me touching it?
When the unit is operating at a high speed continuously, the motor will slow down intermittently to extend the life of the motor.
How do I turn my purifier on?
Press the power button for a moment and release. Do not hold it down. The interface will light up when powered on.
How do I turn my purifier off?
Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
How can I clean the outside of my purifier?
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth to wipe the external surfaces. Never use any chemical or harsh cleaners.
Does my purifier have a pre-filter?
Yes, the pre-filter is built onto the high efficiency air filter to capture large particles.
How long does the filter last?
The filter life is 6-9 months.
When the filter light is illuminated, does it mean it’s time to replace it?
The filter light will illuminate after 2,000 hours of run time indicating it’s time to check the filter.
How do I clean my pre-filter?

- Slide the swivels back into place to hold the filters. Place the cover back on by inserting at the top first then inserting the bottom until it’s secure.
How do I reset the filter light?
Press the Filter Reset button until the light turns off. We have found it can be touchy, so use your thumb and apply pressure and rotate your thumb back and forth until the light goes off.
What is the function of the Air Quality Sensor (AQS)?
The AQS measures and displays air quality in three color codes: green, yellow, and red. The color corresponds to the particle count measured by the AQS.
What if my AQS light is red and won’t change back to green?
To clean the AQS sensor of any accumulated dust, use any of the following methods: wipe with a clean cloth, spray with a can of air, or use a vacuum. The lens is located under the front cover of the purifier in the top right-hand corner.
What is the function of Auto Mode?
In Auto Mode, the purifier automatically adjusts its fan speed based on the air quality sensor reading. Note: the sensor needs about 10 minutes to warm up to reach its maximum sensitivity.
What is the function of Night Mode?
This reduces the fan speed to the quietest level and turns off the air quality display. The blue lights on top stay on but are dimmed.
How do I turn on Kid Lock?
Press the Timer and Speed buttons at the same time.
How do I turn off Kid Lock?
Press and hold the Timer and Speed buttons.
