HEPA FAQ
The filters we make are built from HEPA-rated media. Pleating the media into a filter reduces efficiency slightly, as it does for every pleated filter, so we don't label the finished filter "true HEPA." We rate performance by CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate), the AHAM-tested measure of how much clean air the whole purifier delivers. CADR accounts for filter efficiency and airflow together, and it is the basis for DOE efficiency standards.
